Robert Louis Wynn and his wife Margaret Howerton-Wynn
1908 - 1982
1912 - 1991
Robert Louis (Buster) Wynn, the second born of Robert Bryant and
Hattie Baldwin-Wynn suffered a broken leg at fifteen years of age while wrestling with
one of his best friends. This broken leg left him unable to work in the fields that summer
so he decided to leave home and find work that he could do.
He wound up enrolled in school in Ft Valley, GA. Where he was known as "Buster".
(Though the reason for the nick-name is unclear, I do know
that in that era a hard fall was known as a "buster" and the name was
often hung on someone after they "took a buster") Later as his younger
brothers came to school there they were collectively known as the "Buster
Boys". Robert married Margaret Howerton, whom he met at Hampton
Institute.
