"A picture is worth a thousand words." I'm sure you've all heard this before but did you ever consider how recent a technology photography is? The first U.S. President to be photographed was Lincoln! The process by the standards of the era was by no means inexpensive. Imagine what a treasure the following photos must have been back in the late 1800's and early 1900's... certainly no less of a treasure as they are today!

Belle Baldwin

Belle Baldwin was the Mother of Hattie Lee Baldwin-Wynn.

This photo (below) of Belle appears to be even earlier than the one above. It was "touched up" as was done in the old days to make them look more like portraits. Now this is the oldest photograph of one of our family members that I am aware of. If you have any others please let me know... I'd love to be wrong again.

Leroy Baldwin, Belle's Son, is the Brother of Hattie Lee Baldwin-Wynn. Leroy was a Veteran of WWI.
He died in 1928 in a T. B. sanitarium in Ashville, NC. He had studied Law and was
preparing for the Bar Exams before being overcome by his illness.
Leroy Roscoe Wynn, Hattie Baldwin-Wynn's 5th child was named after him.
