James Wynn and his wife Sammye

James Willie Wynn was the 4th born child and the third son of Robert Bryant & Hattie Baldwin-Wynn. His nickname "Dub" was, of course, short for "Double U".

James and his wife, Sammye Jefferson-Wynn, have a Son, Ronald Wynn and a Daughter Anne Wynn-Davis.

James spent many years as an educator, from Knoxville, TN city schools to the TN Dept of Education. He sought to improve employment opportunities for minorities and fought to bring about fairness and equity. He knew that training was key to gainful employment and through the The TN Dept of Ed's Opportunities Industrial Center and manpower Training Programs he was able to reach larger numbers and help them obtain marketable skills. He developed training programs in Ethiopia for OIC International. James also assisted the Southern Law Poverty Center, an organization that monitors the activity of hate groups and helps the victims of hate crimes win compensation.

James Wynn loved his family, immediate and extended. His children, grandchildren,  nieces and nephews will always have fond memories of "Uncle Dub."
