Hattie Lee Wynn-Burgess (1916 - 1988)        Joe Symeyoun Burgess, Sr. (1914 ~ 2008)

Hattie Lee Wynn-Burgess was the 2nd daughter and 6th child of Robert Bryant & Hattie Baldwin-Wynn.

Hattie married Joseph S. Burgess, Sr. in 1935, They were blessed with seven children, five daughters and two sons. It didn't matter if you were a Grandchild, one of the extended family who knew her as  "Mama Burgess", a sibling who called her "Wren" or one of many Nieces or Nephews to whom she was "Aunt Hattie", she was always delighted to see you and welcomed you with a big hug and a warm smile! Who could forget how at every reunion she expressed her joy at being with us... and closed her remarks with this little poem that reminds us of how precious time is:

Just A Minute
I've only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it... forced upon me.
I didn't seek it, I didn't choose it
but it's up to me to use it.
I must give an account if I loose it... I must suffer if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute...
but eternity is in it!
